Cashmere-Saughnassie
LeukemiaCashmere-Saughnassie a 7-year-old from Davenport, Florida was granted her most heartfelt wish, to go on a Disney cruise in October 2014.
Cashmere was hospitalized before her cruise but was able to muster strength, pack her Minnie Mouse backpack and thoroughly enjoy her trip. She experienced many “first times” on her wish; riding in a limousine to the airport and snorkeling to name a few. Her Mom, Bonnie, and three older brothers accompanied her on the “Disney Dream'” cruise ship that left from Port Canaveral and sailed to the Bahamas before making a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
A treat each and every day was discovering what type of towel animal would be waiting back In the cabin, her favorite being a snake. On the day they pulled into Nassau. It happened to be raining, but Cashmere-Saughnassie and her family were able to take a tour of the Atlantis resort. She especially enjoyed seeing the deadly piranhas. Bonnie’s most memorable moment was having her entire family together and getting a professional picture while boarding the luxury vessel. “this trip was something we could never have afforded.” said Bonnie as she recounted her favorite memories of the dream vacation. Cashmere-Saughnassie’s wish to go on a Disney cruise will provide her and her family with hope, strength and joy as they continue to fight through the stress and anxiety of dealing with Cashmere’s life-threatening medical condition.
